So in case you've been wondering, I am still actively working on another short story. I got kind of bogged down because for this one I wanted to use a constructed language, and that topic was so freaking fascinating that I spent about 4 months learning about it and creating a very slight outline of a language.
Luckily, I've gotten far enough in its development for the purpose of my current story, so I'm going to get back into it. I have a very detailed outline and the draft is already about 1500 words (by comparison, Durist is something like 10k). I'm liking how it's feeling.
Just to give you a little teaser, the story I'm currently working on happens in the same setting as Durist, but it's not about Durist. It will introduce some new characters and explore further how people other than dwarves (and I know, dwarves are the coolest) live in this fantasy setting. I'm having fun with it, and I hope to have it done and out for all y'all before April (so I don't go a whole year without finishing a story).
So, dwarves...huh? Obviously they're lacking grace and they just, well, uhm, they smell...But other than that, yeah, they rock.
